MEET JAMIE

Hi, my name is Jamie Evans
I’m a certified Health and Life Coach.
I’ve been in the Fitness industry for over 30 years. I’ve enjoyed all sports growing up and was always very active. During high school, I always felt like I wanted to look and feel a certain way. It was almost like there was another person that was trying to get out, but back then I didn’t have the knowledge to look how I envisioned myself.
After graduating high school, I wanted to get into better shape, and although I was never really overweight, I just knew I wanted to tone up and be the person I envisioned being. I found myself looking at fitness magazines and seeing woman competitors and telling myself “I can do that!” I began training and over the years and learned how to eat better and made significant changes. After having my kids, I continued to work out, I taught Pilates for about five years, as well as personal training on the side which I still enjoy doing today.
It wasn’t until 2003 that I began my journey as a Figure Competitor that my body composition changed. I became leaner, more muscular yet still feminine. This added a sense of confidence in me that came from that feeling of satisfaction and achievement.

After years of placing 4th & 5th place and falling short of my goal of taking 1st, I committed and told myself that I was going to do it, and in 2005 I did just that. I was The Overall Winner for Miss Figure Utah that year. It was such a great feeling having that goal you set for yourself and reaching it! My last competition was back in 2010, and although I didn’t place 1st, that was ok with me. I realized as I got older that what's most important to me is that it's not about who’s judging me, it's more about being the best version of myself and finishing what I started. It's the journey and following through with the goal that is most rewarding regardless of how I placed. Now, I get to be the judge of me and that is a really good feeling.
Not to say I'd never get back on stage, because I do love it! It’s more about me competing with myself, and doing little things every day that make me stay healthy and fit! That’s what's important to me.
My background in health and fitness started at a very young age. I played softball, basketball, did gymnastics and loved to dance.
Today I enjoy weight training hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, and yoga. Mainly anything that helps me to stay healthy. I’ve always loved helping others too. As a young girl I'd pretend to be a gymnastics teacher and would have neighbor friends over teaching them how to do backbends, walkovers, etc. Even at a young age it made me feel good helping people, especially where health and fitness were concerned, not realizing that as I got older it would turn out to be my passion.

Coming full circle and becoming a Health & Life Coach I feel blessed to do what I love, helping people achieve their goals so they can become the best version of themselves.
